For anyone hesitating over whether to buy an epilator, I would say go for it! I've had salon waxes a few times before, but never done it regularly because of the cost. Home waxing is just too messy and not particularly efficient or long lasting and depilating creams are pretty rubbish, so I have always stuck to shaving, but the disadvantage with that is how frequently you have to do it, plus stubbly regrowth. I'd never really thought of epilating before, but after reading a few reviews on here, I decided to take the plunge. I am so pleased with the results! My legs and underarms are now perfectly smooth and it's easy to do at home. The sensation was a bit strange to get used to at first - I felt like I was shearing a sheep and the buzzing noise is a bit disconcerting! But it wasn't really very painful, just like a hot tingling sensation. My skin came up in red pimples in a few places, but these had gone by the following morning. Bikini line was more painful than doing my legs, but still bearable.
Good things about this model - it's very efficient and worked well on fine and coarse, short and long hair. I like the massage rollers and the choice of epilating heads. The spotlight is brilliant for showing up little tiny hairs. I went for this model because I had never epilated before and was not a regular waxer, so I wanted the easy start set, which is basically a gel pad you put in the freezer, with a glove thing it goes in, which you can use to numb your skin before you epilate, plus an epilating head with fewer tweezers which you can use before progressing to the regular head. However, I found the whole process so much less painful than I had thought that I didn't really need the easy start set. For me that was a bit of a waste of money, and I wish I had gone for slightly different model in the same range that comes with a trimmer or shaver rather than the easy start set. But overall I am hugely pleased with the ease and results of this product, and would definitely encourage any epilating virgins to go for it! |
