Philips HP6576 Rechargeable Epilator

Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Rechargeable epilator.

The Philips HP6576 rechargeable epilator is the flagship model in Philips satin Perfect range. The other two models, in this range, include the HP6572 satin perfect and the HP6570 Satin Perfect. The main difference between these epilators is that the HP6576 is cordless and comes exclusively supplied with some luxury tweezers. It also comes with a Shave and trim attachment that is also included with the Hp6572. The HP6576 is the only rechargeable epilator in Philips Satin perfect range. It takes approximately 1 hour to fully charge giving you a total epilating time of about forty minutes. This is equivalent to the Braun 7681. Being cordless the HP6576 has the advantage of you being able to use it where ever you wish. You do not have the inconvenience of sitting close to an electrical socket or be constrained by a far too short electric cable.

Big head.

Most of us have busy lives and would rather spend time on other more important things than epilating. The Philips Satin HP6576 has been designed to help achieve this aim by designing their new range of epilators with an extra-wide epilating head. This helps to cut down the time you spend epilating by removing more hair with one stroke than previous Philips epilators.

Opti-light.

At first glance this feature appear superfluous; just another flashy little extra added by the manufacturer, in a sort of desperate attempt to make their model stand apart from a crowd of other similar products. However, this light really does have a practical use. It works really well in highlighting those fine hairs that are all too easy to miss, especially if your eyesight isn’t 100%. This, I am happy to say, is one feature that you will find yourself using more often than not.

Ceramic discs.

The discs or tweezers of other epilator brands are normally made of metal. Philips, on the other hand, have chosen to make their tweezers from Ceramic. This, apparently, has certain advantages over metal tweezers. One of the main advantages is that ceramic material may be kinder to certain types of skin. For those of you with sensitive skin or who may have an allergy to certain metals, that prevents you from using other brands of epilator may have more success with the Philips Satin Perfect range. Philips also claim their Ceramic discs, due to the textured coating, are able to catch more of those finer hairs other epilators may miss.

Speed settings.

Philips Hp6576 has a choice of speed settings. These are not infinitely variable; you simply have a choice of speed one or speed two. Unusually Philips have set the starting speed at two. This is the speed most experienced users will use and is mostly used when epilating larger areas of your body. If you are using the epilator for the fist time or will be epilating the more sensitive or bony parts of your body then it is advisable to set the starting speed to position 1.

Philips HP6576 Pivoting head.

None of us are built like a cube with nice smooth, straight lines. We all have curves lumps and the occasional knobbly bit. So when it comes to epilating, certain parts of our bodies can present more of a challenge than others. This is where the pivoting head on the Philips Hp6576 comes in useful. It allows the epilator to follow the contours of your, body, thus helping to extract more of those hairs, that may otherwise have been hard to remove, a lot more efficiently.

HP6576 Active Massaging attachment.

Any innovation manufactures come up with- no matter how strange or bizarre- which help to lesson the discomfort of epilation, are more than welcome: but only if they work. To this end Philips have equipped the HP6576 with a vibrating massage bar. This is designed to stimulate the skin while you epilate, thus helping to cancel out the negative sensations. Some people find this works extremely effectively , while as you would expect, others do not. This is one feature you really do have to try to see if it works for you personally.

Shave Trim Attachment.

This is an additional attachment that can be used before you start to epilate. It helps to trim your hair if it is too long to comfortably use your epilator. It can also be used to trim your bikini line and you underarms.

Hair lifter Attachment.

This helps to stimulate those flat lying hairs, through use of vibrations, into an upright position . Doing this helps the tweezers latch onto and remove more hairs.

Criticism.

I think the main criticism of the HP6576 is that too many of its features are built into separate caps. If you want to use the massaging feature you will have to use the massaging cap. If you want to use the pivoting feature you will need to use the Optimal performance Cap. Over the course of time this could become slightly irritating.

The nearest rival to the Philips HP6576 is the probably the Braun silk epil 7681. The Braun has the above features built into its body so there is no need to change caps. The Braun is slightly more expensive than the Philips but may be worth paying the extra for the convenience.

Conclusion.

The Satin Perfect is the name given to Philips latest range of epilators. The HP6576 rechargeable epilator, discussed here, is their top model. All three models in the Satin Perfect range are a big improvement on the models they replace. If you are looking to replace your old Philips model then this epilator,or any of the other two in the Satin Perfect range, would make a good choice.
