In these difficult times, most of us are looking for ways to save some money, and at first, the cost of a decent quality epilator may seem rather expensive when compared to a pack of razor blades. But if you actually sit down and think about it you may be surprised that using an epilator could actually save you money over the long term.
Below I will give you a small example of how owning an epilator could save you some money. The prices quoted are just for example and I’m not saying they are one hundred percent accurate. Some of you may spend a lot more or a lot less on your razor blades. the same goes for epilating. Try to buy the best epilator you can afford
On average a good quality epilator could cost you somewhere between lets say £40 to £100. At first this really does seem quite expensive. Compare this to a decent pack of razor blades that may cost somewhere between £4 and £9 for a pack of 3 blades. At first glance it looks like the epilator looses out and it’s far cheaper just to buy a large pack of razor blades and save your money.
Let’s say a single blade costs £1 and lasts for 1 week. Over a period of a single year this will cost a total of £52. Within one to two years you have already spent more on blades than the cost of an epilator. Your epilator could easily last for many years; you could be using it for up to ten years, saving you money year after year.
Maybe you don’t use blades but prefer to use wax to remove your hair. You may do this at home or go to a beauty salon. Like razor blades wax strips do not come free. You can buy strips that come pre-waxed or buy cloth strips that use hot wax. Either way, this is an ongoing expense that ads up year after year. If you do go to a beauty salon to get your waxing done these costs can really mount up.
So you can see that the epilator you have got your eye on may not be as expensive as you thought. It could actually work out cheaper over a period of time than using razor blades or waxing.
So now you can rush out and justify the purchase of that shiny new epilator. You will have a big happy smile on your face knowing that you will be saving loads of money every time you use it. O.K I may be exaggerating a wee bit.
